Most summer days, six 25 meter, two 25 yard, and two 50 meter lanes are available for lap swimming/training. The pool has a ramp in the shallow end to allow for assisted entry. A one meter diving board is in the deep end.

New in 2022 – Pickleball Courts

Children’s Outdoor Pool

The outdoor children’s recreational pool was constructed in 1997. It measures 2,400 square feet (about 70×35 feet) and has a maximum depth of 2-1/2 feet. Located on the north lawn, this pool has a number of features which make it a popular choice for children and parents.

Separated from the main pool by a fence and having a fully shaded lawn and new pavilion offering shade and privacy, the pool is almost a club within a club. Elegant and beautiful landscaping surrounds this pool with terra cotta edging. The pavilion, reconstructed with pressure treated lumber and dark green metal roof offers a great view of the pool and a popular place to eat and have a party. Children love the zero depth walk-in at the base of the shallow end complete with gentle water jets. A raindrop fountain and shallow water jets add excitement for kids of all ages. Deeper into this pool are benches along the western edge of the shallow end, an island with a whale and then the “deep end” 30 inches in depth with four air bubblers for kids’ enjoyment. Benches continue around the perimeter of this end of the pool with stairs leading up and out the entire western edge of the pool.

Technical Pool Specs

The Children’s Outdor Recreational Pool (2800 square feet) was constructed in 1997. Constructed of shotcrete covered with light blue plaster, this pool has a diotomaceous earth filter and is disinfected with sodium hypochlorite. Zero walkin sloping to 30 inches maximum depth. Total gallons = 28,425. With a flow rate of 150 gallons per minute, this pool turns over every three and one half hours.

The Main Indoor Pool (6 lane 50 Meter) was constructed in 1994. This pool has a shotcrete shell layered with white plaster. A water line, flip turn targets and bottom lane markings are in navy blue tile. This pool also has a steel and fiberglass bulkhead which is normally across four of the six lanes. It can be constructed to allow for two 25 yard courses, or one 25 yard and one 25 meter course. This pool has a hi-rate sand filtration system and is disinfected using liquid sodium hypochlorite. The pool has a precast stone gutter. Four of the six main drains are direct plumbed and the remaining two are plumbed to a surge tank as is the gutter. All of the returns are side wall or floor returns. Heated at 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the indoor pool is used primarily for lap swimming, training, deep water physical therapy and advanced swim lessons. The pool is equipped with stairs. The pool measures 45 x 164 feet and has a average depth of 6 feet. Total gallons = 332,100. With a flow rate of 800 gallons per minute, this pool turns over every seven hours.

The Indoor Therapy Pool was constructed in 1994. This pool is shotcrete layered with white plaster and navy blue tile markings. This pool is heated to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and slopes in depth from three to four feet. This pool has stairs leading into it along one half of the north side. This pool has a hi-rate sand filtration system and is disinfected using liquid sodium hypochlorite and an ozonator. Like the main indoor pool, the therapy pool has a precast stone gutter system. This pool is used for therapy, arthritis classes, and swim lessons. It is available for adult and / or adult child therapy usage as well. During the Winter season, this pool is made available for recreational use by children on a limited basis. The pool measures 12 x 34 feet and has an average depth of 3.5 feet. Total gallons = 10,710. With a flow rate of 50 gallons per minute, the therapy pool turns over every 3 and one-half hour.

The Indoor Hot Tub was constructed in 1994. This pool is shotcrete layered with white plaster and navy blue tile markings. This pool is heated to 102 degrees Fahrenheit and is 4 feet deep with a bench around three sides. It has stairs leading into the water and has fixed and circular jets. This pool is disinfected using sodium hypochlorite and an ozonator. The hot tub measures 8 x 12 feet and contains 1654 gallons. At a flow rate of 80 Gallons per minute, the hot tub has a turn over rate of almost 3 times per hour.

The Main Outdoor Pool (10 lane 50 meters with separate shallow end) was constructed of poured concrete in 1930. Its original filtration system consisted of four sand and gravel tanks pumped from a gravity-fed surge pit inside the pump house at the south end of the pool. This filter was replaced in 1988 by two high-rate sand filters contained within the pump house. The gravity fed filtration pit remains the same with some modifications. The filtration rate of 2000 gallons per minute exceeds the old filters 1600 GPM. The stainless steel gutter system added to the top of the pool assists in better filtration because it more filters surface water than the previous systems as well as allowing for filtered water returns around the circumference of the pool every eighteen inches. The pool is chlorinated using sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine) and gas chlorine. The pool, due to excessive loss from evaporation and splashing, is not stabilized. PH is regulated by adding soda ash. The pool has a movable fiberglass and steel bulkhead across six lanes which creates a six lane 25 meter course, a five lane 25 yard course, and allows five 50 meter lanes available for training, and / or recreation. Most summer days, six 25 meter, two 25 yard, and two 50 meter lanes are available for lap swimming / training. The pool has a ramp in the shallow end to allow for disabled entry. A one meter diving board is in the deep end. This pool measures 92 feet x 195 feet and has an average depth of 7 feet. Total gallons = 815,850. With a flow rate of 2000 gallons per minute, this pool turns over every 6.8 hours.
